You can get $100 cash back after spending $500 within 3 months of receiving your card. Apply for the Discover More card using invitation code DANX to qualify.

I’ve noticed lately that as banks continue to crumble from the credit crunch, the sign-up deals have been drying up.

In other news, there are rumors that Citi’s 5% cash-back offer (no cap for 3 months) on the Citi CashReturns card is about to end, so apply now before it’s too late.

    i just noticed the $500 in purchases part. has anyone tried making a big purchase (like $500) from a store with a 90-day return policy (like walmart), wait for the points, then return the item for a refund? i would never do that of course, but just wondering if it would work. thanks

    -No they are not. I just got a notice saying I was declined because I’m already a cardholder. If anyone has any evidence to show otherwise, please post, I would like to know.

    u can probably split > $500 in spending into as many purchases as you want within 90 days.

    I just read fine print and nothing written about the $100 reward, only the 5% cashback. I don’t want to apply if it’s not a valid $100 reward… Anyone know more?

    Me and my wife play this game often - One of us is card holder and then the other one signs and first one cancels and so on, and keep doing it. it is a small inconvenience, but worth, it. Credit score suffers some, but, not too much

    NA / Silverbolt: I believe when I signed up for this card in March there was a place for me to enter my code for the $100. It didn’t show up until I got my statement for the month where I cleared the $500 spending. I would call DISCOVER and tell them you saw the code for this promotion to double-check. I did and they had it in their database.

    One more thing, they don’t mail out checks anymore, so I had to give them my checking acct info for DD. The $100 was deposited 72 hours after I called them to cash it in.
