WAMU is offering a $75 gift check for opening up their free checking account. Some of the features you get w/ this account are:

    Free checks for life.
    No minimum balance.
Free Debit MasterCart w/ Rewards (ea. yr. you get 3 cents for every purchase made with card up to $250
One overdraft or bounced check fee waived every year.

The letter I got said you can sign up at free.wamu.com, (they won’t offer it at any other URL) but that URL won’t open up for me in Mozilla Firefox, so you can also do it by phone: 1-800-685-1644

    The Promo Code is 0380-ACGP-8481

You need to fund the account with $30 and just keep the account current (no over draft) for eight weeks, and they’ll mail the check to you.

It took me about 5 mins to sign up!

Just like some previous Citicard deals, make sure you allow popups on their site and then, when you get to the signup page, close the page/tab and a popup will appear offering an additional 5000 Thank You points for a total of 15000 points for signing up.

Does anyone have more promo codes for Washington Mutual? I was not aware of this deal until jacmac pointed it out.

If you close the window, you will get a popup that will give you 5000 more bonus points to apply, giving you 15000 total points

Since the washington mutual deal was brought up, I wanted to say that the promo code does not work. It seems you need a unique promo code in order to get a free gift check. I am not sure if calling them would help obtain this offer but signing up online will not work.

I applied for this but found that my 10000 points would only get me a $75 gift certificate at Target, not $100 as claimed.

I applied, was approved, made 1 purchase, redeemed the 15,000 for 4 gift cards totaling $120 (2x $50 for Amazon, 2x $10 for Starbucks). When I called to cancel I was transferred to an “account specialist” who offered me a $25 statement credit to not close the account, I hesitated and then he offered my 5000 rewards points. I asked for 6000 points, he declined, I took the $25 statement credit and will call again later to cancel.

I took a look at the offer this morning, and when I closed the window a popup showed up showing “earn 5000 additional points just for applying now” for a total of 15000 points. So I applied, but it says ” Further processing is required at this time.” I think I may be denied because a few months back I applied for and received the Citibank Professional card. I ended up earning $100 at Chilis, $100 at Sears, and $15 statement credit on that deal!

If you don’t understand how to make the additional 5000 point offer show up, try using this link, although the link may expire after a period of time.
