WaMu 5.40% APY 6-Month CD Rates

Washington Mutual Bank used to offer a 6.00% WaMu CD Rate, but it looks like that deal is no longer active.
Nevertheless, they are still one of the leaders in retail banking, offering one of the best CD rates from brick and mortar banks. WaMu is currently paying 5.40% APY on its 6-month CD account.

There is a $1000 minimum opening deposit. Other than that, I’ve had great experiences in that past with Washington Mutual Bank’s CD Rates.

    It looks like this deal may not be valid in all states.

    So far, I can confirm that California is still offering this rate.

    This rate is no longer avaible, insted they have over 5.23% for 8 month!

    This rate is only for online CDs, per the WaMu website.

    As of today, Wamu’s 6 month rate online CD APR is: 5.15%

    Thats apr (annual percentage rate) and they are very low right now. Best idea is to wait and put money in a money market account and wait for rates to rise then lockin. just imo
