There is a new deal out from Citi for their American Airlines AAdvantage card.

There is a annual fee on this card, but it is waived for the first year.

Alternatively, the airline ticket deal for the Citi PremierPass is still going on. This deal isn’t restricted to American Airlines, but you have to spend $500 on your card within 2 months of opening an account.

Also, remember that you can also get up to 6 nights of hotel stays at Starwood chains if you sign-up for the AMEX Starwood deal. If you “play your cards right” (pun intended), you can potentially get a free vacation for yourself.

    I just got a different offer in the mail from AA/Citi. Since I am a current card holder, they offered to upgrade my card to “platinum” for a $75 annual fee. But for that annual fee I would receive a free companion ticket, plus they will extend the cap of the # of miles I can earn annually from card spending. Sounds like a pretty great deal, worth it for the companion ticket alone.

    great deal!! with this plus the old amex business gold deal (they awarded me the points in three weeks!!) the girlfriend and I are flying to Vegas for free!! Take advantage of your good credit folks!!

    Offer from Citibank seems to be a scam! Watch out!

    I recently also got an offer from Citibank to upgrade my card to a Platinum for a fee, and would get a companion ticket. Well, now Citibank is claiming that they never offered a companion ticket with that offer! I also applied for a Citibank American Express card and this card may have been the one offering the companion ticket! Either way, citibank is now claiming they never offered a companion ticket with the upgrade or American Express Card. I’ve already transferred my balance off of them. They’re crooks. I’m contacting the BBBB about this now.

    If you do a google search for ” Citi / AAdvantage American Express Card ” you will get a result (first one or 2) that promises a free American Airlines Companion ticket. But if you look at the page, or the cached version, it’s gone. But it’s still in the title text!

    Wow! Got the points exactly a month after getting the card in the mail!! 25000 points, or miles as they say, just after buying some Christmas gifts (and paying it right off of course.) I’m surprised this deal isn’t getting more energy.

    I ALSO WAS A VICTIM OF THIS FREE COMPANION TICKET. I NEVER RECIEVED THIS TICKET IN THE MAIL SO I CALLED AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY NEVER HAD ANY INFO ON ME AND THIS OFFER.
