Be careful. We have been cardholders since 2005. Always paid balance in full each month, never late and this week received a notice that "they are committed to providing valuable customer like you with honest and open communications. ...Having considered these economic conditions, your acount's current Purchase rate, and length of time you've had this rate and account we will be increasing your Purchase rate...also Cash Advance and Default rates. New APR is Prime + 14.65; advance Prime + 21.65; defalt Prime + 26.15! And this for a customer with a credit score of 803! No thanks!

When I opened my account last fall, there was no balance transfer fee. With 0 % interest for the first 12 months, I've been able to nearly pay off my balance from 2 other cards I transfered to this account. I don't think this deal can be beat, assuming there is still no balance transfer fee.

What is the balance transfer fee for this card? If it is over 3%, then you can't do credit card arbitrage.

Just got my Capital One Cash rewards card today and activated it. 1 pt for 1 dollar spent, 2 pts for restaurants and entertainment, my own image, and a choice of how and when to receive the reward. You can't beat that. Used to use the Citi Thankyou rewards, but they've scaled that back now. they had the best rewards before Capital One's deal. With the new card, I also get the 0% on purchases for a year, and all the standard free Mastercard perks, like extended waranty service, travel assistance services, etc.

capital one seems to be one of the card companies still making an effort on good customer service. I had to call them on a couple of billing problems and they were very responsive.
